I'm still reeling from the four days of the recent TED attack of ideas. I am renewed by the power of people I have had an opportunity to learn from at TED and, at the same time, struggling with the question if I am doing enough to make a difference. But aren't we all?
As I sit on the train heading home after work tonight, I scan back through my relatively short-term memory to conjure lasting pieces of new knowledge and awareness. I recall the words from speakers that, without question, moved me.
Temple Grandin. She is a livestock handler and autism activist has made her mark. As someone with Autism, she sees in images. She truly sees things "differently" and has applied her "disability" to design humane livestock handling process while teaching us about the untapped talent and resources that those with Autism can bring to the world.
HBO recently released a powerful movie about her entitled, Temple Grandin.
Temple was brilliant, funny and autistic. I was humbled by her energy and passion to use her special gift.
